In each of these essays, students were able to share stories from their everyday lives to reveal something about their character, values, and life that aligned with the culture and values at Hopkins.
This is very incorrect, at least when it comes to the examples on the Tufts website. The essays chosen are deliberately meant to be accessible. While they are absolutely examples of strong essays that moved admissions decisions, it's rare when they are the best of the best. I'd say they represent the 75th percentile of essays for admits.
